Adopt Technologies makes Inc. 5000 list again.

PHOENIX, Ariz. (August 17, 2019)—Adopt Technologies (adopttechnologies.com), a Phoenix-based information technology company, has made Inc. magazine’s list of the 5000 fastest growing companies in America for the second consecutive year. Ranked at number 2295, this milestone marks an impressive achievement by CEO Brett Helgeson who purchased the company in 2012 after serving as Director of Operations for six months.

According to Helgeson, much of the company’s success can be attributed to a philosophy of honest and transparent business practices in an industry known for complicated tech speak and IT executives heavy on industry knowledge but light on business strategy. Helgeson had previously owned a commercial construction company that managed and executed over $56 million of commercial construction projects in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Since taking the helm at Adopt Technologies, Helgeson has presided over an impressive turnaround, growing its revenue by over 1,000 percent and increasing its contracted monthly recurring revenue (CMRR) by 1,200 percent during his tenure.

The company provides managed IT services for small and medium-sized businesses with 500 or fewer employees, and specializes in software hosting and cloud computing services. Employees of Adopt Technologies assist clients in migrating from traditional servers to their cloud platform. Afterwards, Adopt’s typical customer saves 25-40 percent on their IT expenditures; some save as much as 50 percent depending on how they staffed their IT team.

Transparency as a business philosophy is a priority, and Adopt practices it through the client acquisition process and beyond. Helgeson’s team evaluates infrastructure, third-party contracts, software solutions, security and other determinants to find the best approach to help clients reach productivity and efficiency goals, as well as create the right mix of technology to support business goals and growth strategies.

“The business model they practice is a good one,” said Zach Teegarden, vice president of CS Construction. He’s been a client of Adopt’s since 2012. “Adopt listened to my business’s needs and then developed a unique solution for us--as opposed to fitting everyone and everything into one IT solution.”

Helgeson said, “Sometimes new clients are shocked when we re-negotiate vendor contracts and reduce previous hardware expansion plans because they are incompatible with their business growth objectives or current IT best practices and trends. We end up saving them money when, in the past, they were used to IT consultants increasing their costs without regard for tying budgets to actual growth plans.”

Clients of Adopt Technologies are not locked into long, difficult-to-navigate contracts. Every client pays month-to-month and can change or cancel at any time. As a result, almost none of them cancel. Adopt boasts an average annual 97% client retention rate, and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 81 with its client decision makers and 78 with its client end user base.

Finally, the very name of the company is a part of its success. Helgeson and his wife Gretchen are raising three children they adopted. Rather than being hired, each one of the company’s employees feels they were adopted by their bosses.

Helgeson was recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal with a Top Tech Executive Award in 2016 as well as ASU’s Sun Devil 100 awards the last two years and was named to CRN’s Pioneer 250 and MSP 500 in 2018.

In addition to allowing clients to save money, Adopt is constantly innovating. When an improvement or efficiency is developed for one client, it’s rolled out to all of their clients. “We feel like we have to earn their business and demonstrate our value every month,” said Helgeson. To that extent, Chief Technology Officer Ryan Triesman added. “Adopt Technologies is continuously innovating and evolving our solutions not for innovations sake, but to propel our customers’ growth. Our continued investment into these enhancements provide a robust, stable, and secure environment for our customers to run their enterprise’s and this has allowed Adopt Technologies to maintain our growth and success.”

The company is headquartered in Phoenix and provides managed IT services, 24/7 help desk support, cloud computing migrations, services and support, cybersecurity, data recovery, security education and training and IT consulting services. They support thousands of users and have blocked billions of vulnerabilities boasting an always available Arizona based help desk.
